Ijaw, Urhobo Commend INEC For Releasing Final Report Of Delineation Of Warri Federal Constituency

The Urhobo and Ijaw indigenous people of Warri Federal Constituency have commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the release of the final report of the Supreme Court ordered fresh delineation of electoral wards and polling units in the Warri Federal Constituency.
In a press statement duly signed by Alaowei Dembo-Denbofa Oweikpodor, Olorogun Victor Okumagba JP, Dr. Paul Bebenimibo and Chief John Eranvor and read by Olorogun Victor Okumagba at press conference in Warri, Delta State, expressed satisfaction over the release of the final report of the fresh delineation exercise before the conduct of the 2027 general elections as ordered by the Supreme Court of Nigeria since December, 2022.
Olorogun Okumagba stated that INEC invited them to its state office Asaba where the final report of the delineation was released and presented to the stakeholders of Ijaw, Itsekiri and the Urhobo ethnic nationalities.
He affirmed that the briefing serves as an expression of the common position of the Ijaws and Urhobos of Warri on the final report of the Supreme Court ordered delineation of the electoral wards in Warri Federal Constituency, adding that by this action of INEC the several years of agitation of political imbalance in Warri Federal Constituency has subsided.
Olorogun Okumagba stated that Ijaws and Urhobos of Warri have commended the efforts of INEC for acting in accordance with the Supreme Court of Nigeria by releasing the final report of the delineation for the conduct of the2027 general elections.
According to him We also thank INEC for creating additional State House of Assembly constituencies for Warri North and Warri South West Local Government Areas of Delta State and the directive for political parties primaries to be conducted immediately for the nomination of candidates to represent different political parties in these new constituencies in the 2027 general elections.
We highly commend INEC for recommending the creation of additional Warri Federal Constituency II, for Warri North and Warri South West Local Government Areas. Actions of INEC in creating additional State Constituencies and recommending the creation of additional constituencies for Warri have substantially addressed the political agitations and restore peace to Warri Federal Constituency of Delta State.
- They also commended the security agencies for their collective efforts in maintaining law and order in the Warri Federal Constituency.
